Procedure of the upper eyelid lift:
This operation can take place under local anaesthetic, or if you wish you can be put into twilight sleep. A tiny horizontal incision is made in the crease of the eyelid to remove the excess skin. The edges of the wound are then finely and precisely sutured so that the scar is barely visible.
Procedure lower eyelid lift:
This procedure can also take place under local anaesthetic or, if desired, in twilight sleep. The bags under the eyes or fat pads can be removed with the help of a fine incision under the lash line. This method usually leaves hardly any visible scars, as the work is very precise and delicate.
After the eyelid lift:
To counteract swelling, it is recommended to apply cold compresses to the treated areas for the first few days. After about 7 days, a follow-up appointment should be arranged to remove the stitches and check the healing process. As a rule, the skin around the eyelids heals very well.
