Before an upper eyelid lift, you should make sure that you are in good health and have all the necessary information about the procedure. It is also important not to take any blood-thinning medication or similar beforehand; the extent to which this is possible and for how long should be discussed with the doctor in advance to avoid complications.

Yes, an upper eyelid lift can be performed under local anaesthesia, which means that only the area to be operated on is anaesthetised. This is always included in the offer. Alternatively, the procedure can also be performed in twilight sleep, in which case you will be put into a light sleep. This costs a small surcharge.

After an upper eyelid lift, the stitches are usually removed around 5-7 days after the procedure. However, this can vary depending on the healing process and individual situation.

An upper eyelid lift and drooping eyelid surgery are essentially the same procedure. Both procedures aim to remove excess skin and any fatty tissue from the upper eyelid in order to make the eye appear more open and youthful. The term "drooping eyelid surgery" is often used to refer specifically to the correction of drooping eyelids (sagging skin on the upper eyelid).

Drooping eyelids should be operated on if they restrict the field of vision or are perceived as aesthetically displeasing. A consultation with a specialist can help to determine the optimal time and necessity of the operation on an individual basis.

An upper eyelid lift including local anaesthetic starts from €912. If an upper eyelid lift is desired in combination with a lower eyelid lift, this is usually performed under general anaesthetic and costs around €1,560. It is possible to finance the costs of an upper and lower eyelid lift. Just get in touch with us!

Drooping eyelids can occur at any age, but are more common in middle-aged people, whose skin loses elasticity as they get older. Hereditary factors can also play a role.

After an upper eyelid lift, you will usually be able to socialise again after around 7-10 days. However, the exact duration can vary from person to person.

An upper eyelid lift is generally perceived as less painful as the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic. After the operation, there is usually only slight pain, swelling and a feeling of tightness.

After an upper eyelid lift, you should cool the eye area and avoid physical exertion to minimise swelling and bruising. It is also important to keep the head elevated when sleeping and to protect the eyes from direct sunlight.

As soon as your vision is no longer restricted by the swelling, you can drive again. This is usually the case after approx. 1 week.

The eyes are typically swollen for about one to two weeks after an upper eyelid lift.

An upper eyelid lift should not be performed if acute eye infections or serious eye diseases are present. Patients with serious general health problems or blood clotting disorders should also avoid the procedure until these problems have been clarified and treated by a doctor.
