In some cases, a preparatory year for language or scientific knowledge can be added, which can extend the duration to 7 years.

Specialist training (plastic and aesthetic surgery):

After studying medicine, the specialist training follows, which takes 5 years in the Czech Republic for plastic surgery:

o 2 years of basic general surgical training, which is required for all surgical specialities.

o 3 years of specialisation in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, including practical experience in reconstructive and aesthetic procedures as well as minimally invasive procedures.

Training takes place in accredited clinics and is regulated by strict EU guidelines that guarantee high standards in medical training and patient safety.

Total duration:

o Medical studies: 6-7 years

o Specialist training: 5 years

Total: 11-12 years, depending on a possible preparatory year.

After studying medicine, the specialist training ("uzmanlık") follows, which takes at least 5 years in Turkey for plastic surgery. This includes:

o 2 years of basic training in general surgerywhich is mandatory for all surgical specialities.

o 3 years of specialisation in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeryincluding practical and theoretical training in areas such as reconstructive surgery, aesthetic treatments and minimally invasive techniques.
